McCormack Schreiber Legal Solutions regularly staffs large-scale electronic discovery projects for our law firm and corporate clients. The following are a sample of some of our recent electronic discovery projects:

Recruiting and Screening Attorney Candidates

We recruit our highly qualified team of contract attorneys from a variety of sources. First, as an affiliated company of McCormack Schreiber Legal Search, a long time leader in the permanent attorney recruiting industry, we are able to attract strong attorneys who might not otherwise be available in the contract attorney arena, simply because we are able to offer a full range of employment counseling and services. In addition, we advertise in the most advantageous and often specialized venues to attract top attorneys. We also regularly attend national and regional industry conferences, where we have the opportunity to network with and recruit talented attorneys for contract assignments.

Our screening process is extensive, and again, was designed in accordance with the professional practices of our permanent search firm. To that end, we meet with each candidate for a thorough screening interview, which includes reviewing the candidate's experience and any special practice expertise, past work history, reviews, as well as reasons for job changes. Thus, our clients can expect the best available candidates at the submission stage of the process, without having to sift through resumes to find appropriate contract attorneys for a project.

Background Checking

Before placing any attorney on a particular assignment, we personally contact at least two employment references via telephone. Further, we require each candidate to complete our employment application and other applicable state and federal forms. Bar admission is also verified via the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. Depending on the nature of a contract assignment, we may also request a writing sample.

We are willing to conduct other screening at the request of a client. Such screening might include a criminal background check, drug and alcohol screening, credit report or personality test. This additional screening would be provided at cost.

Project Staffing

Once a client provides us with authorization to staff a project, we turn to our extensive database of pre-screened attorney candidates to identify those who best match the experience profile of the project. We then contact candidates to determine their availability and to address duration of the project, pay rate, location and upcoming vacations or other time conflicts, as well as any potential legal conflicts of interest. We will then provide our client resumes of available attorney candidates with the requisite experience and credentials. Once approved, we contact selected attorneys and provide them with the project start details. To ensure smooth project implementation, a member of McCormack Schreiber Legal Solutions is always on-site for the start of the project.

Project Management

Throughout a project's duration, a staff member of McCormack Schreiber Legal Solutions is available 24 hours a day by telephone or email (at no additional charge) to provide assistance with any staffing or technical issues that might arise. A staff member is also responsible for regularly scheduled on-site project monitoring. In addition, we will also appoint an attorney as a "project manager" to assist with any administrative and reporting functions required by our client. At the client's direction, this individual may serve as liaison between our client and the other contract attorneys. The project manager would be instrumental in assisting with timesheets, any additional time documentation required and, if necessary, distribution of work, quality control and productivity reporting. The higher compensation paid to a project manager is done at no additional cost.

At McCormack Schreiber Legal Solutions, we believe that the only way to retain the highest quality attorneys on a project is to treat these attorneys as true professionals. As such, we offer attorneys a competitive benefits package which includes a 401(k) with a 4% match as well as a generous paid holiday and vacation schedule. Because we are determined to staff projects with the highest caliber of contract attorneys, we also provide the opportunity to participate in paid MCLE courses once our attorneys have accrued eighty hours of service with us. In addition, we provide e-discovery training for our attorney candidates through our partnered technology vendors.

Production Facilities/Technology Hardware

At a client's request, we will lease conveniently located document production facilities and provide technology hardware, including computers, monitors, printers and fax machines at cost. Office amenities, such as water, coffee and basic supplies, may also be provided at cost.

Time Approval/Invoicing

At McCormack Schreiber Legal Solutions, we use state of the art technology to streamline the time approval process. Our system integrates payroll data with our invoicing function in order to ensure the most accurate accounting for our clients. Payroll and invoicing are seamlessly combined to ensure precise reporting. All of these functions are integrated, providing real-time visibility into the time card submission process. Old-fashioned data entry is eliminated, creating a smooth, reliable process for our clients.

Off-Shoring Capabilities

We are not confident that the risks associated with off-shore staffing have been adequately resolved, thus we do not offer this staffing alternative at this time.
