About the Position:
We are working with a dynamic mid-sized Chicago law firm that has an immediate need for a commercial litigator with 8+ years of experience to join as a partner or senior associate (depending on level of experience) in Chicago – no business required. This established practice group represents clients ranging from family businesses to Fortune 500 companies in a wide range of litigation matters.

Responsibilities:
· Handle all aspects of litigation, including developing strategy, drafting pleadings, motions and written discovery, taking depositions, trial preparation
· Research and write legal memoranda
· Develop litigation strategy
· Draft effective pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, memoranda, mediation statements, orders and settlement agreements
· Manage large-scale document reviews and productions
· Take/defend depositions, interviewing witnesses, preparing for trial or arbitration
· Work directly with clients and communicate with opposing counsel
· Negotiate settlements and first or second-chair trials and hearings state and federal court

Required Qualifications:
· 8+ years of experience handling all aspects of complex and sophisticated litigation
· Federal or state clerkship is a plus
