McCormack Schreiber is proud of our involvement in legal, nonprofit and community activities, as well as our commitment to pro bono placements.
Volunteer Sponsorships, Activities and Professional Organization Involvement
NALP Lateral Lawyer Recruiting Summit
At McCormack Schreiber, we regularly participate in conferences and panels for a number of legal organizations. These include the National Association for Law Placement (NALP), the Chicago Association of Legal Personnel Administrators (CALPA), InsideCounsel, the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL) and the Chicago Bar Association.
In addition, we support and participate in Race Judicata, a 5K Run/Walk which benefits Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, and also have sponsored the Transformative Leadership Awards dinner, which honors in-house counsel and law firm partners who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in corporate law. Further, we have volunteered with The Cara Program, an NPO which offers job training and placement services to individuals affected by homelessness and poverty.

The McCormack Schreiber professionals also assist law students through their law school placement offices with career guidance and resume assistance, and have volunteered at such law schools as the University of Michigan Law School, Northwestern University School of Law and Washington University School of Law.
Further, we are proud to have provided financial support to such organizations as the Special Olympics of Illinois, Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law, Hephzibah Children's Association, Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, Lupus Society of Illinois, Lurie Children's Foundation, Step Up Women's Network, Children's Memorial Foundation, Legal Prep Charter Academy and the Lincoln Park Conservancy.
Our professionals volunteer individually as well. Amy McCormack is a Board Member for the Early Childhood Collaboration in Oak Park, and previously was an elected Member of the Board of Education of Oak Park and River Forest High School. Greg Veza performs volunteer services for One Million Degrees, a local nonprofit that provides programs to low-income highly motivated community college students, and also is an Auxilary Counsel Member of Steppenwolf Theatre and sponsors a family through RefugeeOne. Scott Walton is a volunteer coach for AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) and serves on the Government Relations Advisory Committee for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Networking at the Lateral Lawyer Recruiting Summit
Moreover, since 1988, McCormack Schreiber Legal Search has been an active member of the National Association of Legal Search Consultants (NALSC), the only existing organization that sets ethical standards for the legal recruiting industry, and from 2004 to 2008 Amy McCormack was an elected Member of the NALSC Board of Directors.
Finally, at McCormack Schreiber, we offer search and placement services to nonprofit organizations on a reduced fee or complementary basis. We believe that such an arrangement benefits these organizations by offering them the same high level of search and placement services as our traditional law firm and corporate clients, thus assisting them to find the best lawyers and legal staff for their organizations.
