About the Position:
Our client, a sophisticated Chicago-area family office, is seeking an experienced corporate attorney with a strong large law firm and in-house background to join as a Senior Legal Counsel, serving as a trusted legal and business advisor across a broad range of family, real estate, corporate, investment and operational matters. This exciting position reports directly to the President of the family office, and this attorney will play a key role in supporting the continued growth and evolution of the organization while helping to manage legal risk across a diverse portfolio of activities

Responsibilities:
• Serve as a trusted advisor on corporate governance, strategic transactions and risk management matters
• Lead legal support for real estate transactions and manage entity formation, governance, and corporate maintenance
• Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements
• Provide guidance on investment, financing, and regulatory compliance
• Advise on employment and other operational matters

Qualifications:
• 10+ years of legal experience, ideally including both large law firm and in-house experience
• Strong corporate/M&A and/or transactional real estate background
• Experience reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements and other transactional documents
• Proven experience developing team members and supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities across a wide range of legal disciplines
• Prior family office experience is a plus

Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs (Hybrid)

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $300,000 – $325,000, plus a strong target annual bonus
