About the Position:
Our client, one of the world’s leading global law firms, is seeking an attorney to focus on regulatory matters for its Investment Funds Practice in their Chicago office. The group counsels fund sponsors, asset managers, and institutional investors on matters spanning the private capital markets, from private equity to venture and credit funds.

Responsibilities:
· Provide legal, regulatory, and compliance advice to investment advisers, family offices, and other financial institutions on private equity, private credit, hedge, and real estate funds
· Advise on the structuring of complex corporate transactions involving investment advisers and investment funds
· Counsel clients in SEC examinations, investigations, and enforcement proceedings, working closely with the firm’s white collar litigation department
· Advise on Investment Company Act issues, including regulatory, status, and structuring matters
Required Qualifications:
· Minimum of 3 years of relevant asset management regulatory experience
· Solid grasp of the federal statutes governing investment advisers and registered investment companies (the 1940 Acts)
· Experience forming private equity and/or hedge funds is a plus

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range is $260,000 – $435,000.
