About the Position:
Our client, a sophisticated national law firm, is seeking a privacy/compliance attorney (experience representing clients in the healthcare industry preferred) to join as an associate in its Chicago office. Attorneys in this firm’s Privacy practice guide health systems, academic medical centers, and vendors through HIPAA, state laws, and data breaches across a range of areas, including regulatory investigations, vendor risk management, and emerging health technologies. Responsibilities:
· Handle incident response for clients experiencing privacy and cyber events such as ransomware and business email compromises
· Assist clients with regulatory investigations from state and federal regulators under HIPAA and applicable state laws
· Provide legal advice and counsel on new and emerging issues, such as AI, to healthcare industry clients

Qualifications:
· 2-4 years of experience with healthcare privacy and compliance matters at an AmLaw 200 firm or a boutique firm that specializes in healthcare law/data privacy related issues (litigators with a strong interest in privacy law will also be considered)
· Knowledge of healthcare operations and HIPAA compliance
· Strong academic credentials

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $235,000 – $285,000.
