About the Position:
Our client, a growing Illinois family law firm, has an active need for a litigation attorney with 2-6 years of litigation experience. Family law experience is preferred but not required. The attorney will manage a caseload of family law matters with significant independence, handling cases from initial client consultation through litigation, settlement, and trial. This is an opportunity to join the firm’s growing team as its third attorney and have a meaningful voice in the continued development of the practice.

Responsibilities:
· Manage a full caseload of family law matters, including divorce, parenting time and allocation, child support, maintenance, property division, post-decree disputes, relocation, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements
· Handle matters from initial client consultation through discovery, negotiation, settlement, hearings, and trial
· Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and other legal documents
· Appear at hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials
· Conduct client consultations and provide practical, responsive legal advice
· Negotiate settlements and develop case strategies tailored to each client’s objectives
· Review legal documents and evidence and prepare thoroughly for litigation and trial
· Maintain accurate time records, case files, and deadlines using Clio
· Communicate regularly and effectively with clients throughout their matters

Required Qualifications:
· 2-3+ years of litigation experience
· Family law experience preferred, but not required
· Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
· Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills
· Familiarity with legal practice management software; Clio experience is a plus

Location:
Chicago, IL (Remote/Hybrid)

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $110,000-$160,000, depending on experience. The position also offers 15-20% origination credit based on collections, an ICHRA benefits arrangement, approximately four weeks of PTO, and support for bar dues, CLE, and professional development.
