Our client, an Am Law 50 firm, has an active need for a staff attorney focused on ethics and conflicts to join its Chicago office. The firm is a leader in many practice groups, including in the technology, health care, manufacturing, and energy fields.

Responsibilities:
· Counsel firm partners and practice group leaders on ethics, professional responsibility, and risk management issues, and help shape firmwide policies that support lawyers’ regulatory compliance
· Analyze conflicts of interest on new matters and lateral hires, recommending clearance, waivers, or screens and elevating novel issues
· Review and negotiate engagement letters, conflict waivers, RFPs, and outside counsel guidelines, flagging non-standard or high-risk terms for responsible partners
· Lead ethics and conflicts trainings for attorneys and staff
Required Qualifications:
· 2+ years of experience in legal ethics, conflicts, professional responsibility, or law firm risk management; law firm background preferred
· Hands-on experience with conflicts clearance, engagement terms, outside counsel guidelines, or waivers
· Solid command of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct, with strong research and writing skills and the ability to turn ethics requirements into practical guidance

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $144,000 – $216,000.
