About the Position:
Our client, a national law firm, is seeking an attorney with affordable housing transactions experience (6+ yrs) to join as a senior-level associate or counsel (depending on level of experience) in its Chicago office. The attorneys in this multidisciplinary practice bring their knowledge of tax, financing, real estate, government policy, nonprofit organizations, and regulatory oversight to assist clients with complex projects across the country.

Responsibilities:
· Represent for-profit and nonprofit developers, investors, and governmental entities, to develop, acquire, construct, finance, operate, and preserve housing across the United States
· Take the lead on affordable housing transactions from initial structuring to drafting and negotiating transaction documents and negotiating business and legal issues
· Draft, review, and negotiate various transaction documents and conduct due diligence
· Interact directly with clients and opposing counsel
Required Qualifications:
· 6 or more years of experience working on affordable housing transactions, including affordable housing finance, development, and incentives
· Experience with other types of tax credits is a plus
· Ability to take the lead on deals
· Strong academic credentials

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $345,000 – $385,000.
