About the Position:
Our client, a global law firm, is seeking an attorney to join its legal risk management team to focus on AI and technology matters in its Chicago office. The interdisciplinary practice group advises on the legal, regulatory, and professional responsibility risks arising from the firm’s use of AI and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities:
· Advise on the legal, regulatory, and professional conduct risks involving internal and client matters
· Shape firmwide policy and governance frameworks for AI and technology use, drafts practical guidance for specific tools, and tracks regulatory developments across data protection, cybersecurity, and digital regulation in key jurisdictions
· Partner with Innovation, IT, Knowledge Management, Information Security, and Data Privacy teams to build risk-aware practices, deliver training on responsible AI use, and serve as the go-to contact for technology and AI risk questions
· Support client negotiations involving AI or technology terms and contributes to internal audits, risk assessments, and related improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:
· Familiarity with AI governance and model risk frameworks, plus knowledge of major global regulatory regimes such as GDPR, the EU AI Act, and emerging US/UK AI guidance
· Hands-on contract review experience and working knowledge of legal tech tools, SaaS platforms, and cloud infrastructure risk

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $187,000 – $248,000.
