About the Position:
Our client, a prestigious law firm headquartered in Chicago, has an active need for a bankruptcy attorney to join as an associate. This nationally recognized Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice partners with clients through every stage of financial distress and delivers strategic counsel on complex restructurings, distressed transactions, and high-stakes bankruptcy litigation, including asset sales, avoidance actions, and plan confirmations.

Responsibilities:
· Advise clients on all aspects of bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including strategic planning, risk assessment, and maximizing recoveries in distressed scenarios
· Handle complex bankruptcy litigation, including drafting pleadings, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, and arguing motions in federal bankruptcy courts
· Support distressed transactions by negotiating and structuring asset purchases, sales, and related agreements both in and out of court
· Provide proactive counseling on insolvency risk, creditor rights, and strategies

Required Qualifications:
· 4-7 years of bankruptcy experience, including commercial litigation, motions, foreclosure litigation, creditor’s rights and workouts
· Experience participating in evidentiary hearings in court
· Excellent academic credentials

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $305,000 – $360,000.
