About the Position:
Our client, a global, Midwest-based law firm, is actively seeking a business litigation attorney to join its Chicago office as an associate. The firm’s trial-ready commercial litigation team handles high-stakes class actions, consumer protection matters, and bet-the-company cases, with litigators across its national offices who have tried cases in all fifty states and associates who gain substantial courtroom experience.

Responsibilities:
· Develop and carry out strategy on complex business disputes in Illinois state and federal courts, from discovery through dispositive motions and hearings
· Prepare persuasive pleadings, motions, and court filings, and argue motions before the court
· Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and coordinate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
· Run key aspects of matters independently, including supervising junior attorneys

Required Qualifications:
· 4-5 years of complex business litigation experience
· Strong written and oral advocacy skills, with familiarity with Illinois state and federal court procedures
· Settlement negotiation and trial preparation experience preferred
· Strong academic credentials

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $290,000 – $350,000.
