About the Position:
Our client, a dynamic midsize Chicago law firm, is seeking a commercial litigator with a construction litigation focus to join the firm as a mid-level associate or as a partner (title will depend on level of experience). This firm serves clients both locally and nationally, and clients range from start-up ventures to Fortune 20 corporations, including publicly and privately held corporations, government entities, educational institutions, not-for-profit entities, individuals, and entrepreneurs.

Responsibilities:
· Advise clients on a range of complex construction litigation and dispute-resolution matters
· Analyze contracts, project records, claims, and other documents to develop case strategy
· Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents
· Argue motions and other matters before state and federal courts
· Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation
· Conduct legal research and provide practical advice regarding construction-related claims and disputes
· Assist with settlement negotiations, mediations, and other alternative dispute-resolution proceedings

Required Qualifications:
· 3+ years of construction litigation experience for associate level; 7+ yrs of experience for partner level
· Experience handling complex construction disputes involving contracts, payment disputes, delays, defects, change orders, or other project-related claims
· Strong written and oral advocacy skills, including experience drafting and arguing dispositive and procedural motions
· Strong legal research, analytical, and case-management skills

Location:
Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary for this position is $175,000+.
Compensation will be significantly higher at the partner level.
