About the Position:
Our client, one of the largest and most recognized global law firms, is seeking an attorney with 5+ years of experience handling construction transactions to join its Chicago office as an associate. This highly-regarded practice has over 50 years of experience handling major construction and real estate projects across borders and sectors, handling everything from financing and planning to contracts and dispute resolution. Projects include commercial offices, hotels, shopping centers, industrial plants, and greenfield development.

Responsibilities:
· Draft, negotiate, and manage the implementation of cross-border & US engineering and construction contracts for projects of high monetary volume
· Advise on project development and construction transactions in the energy, mining, infrastructure and commercial real estate sectors (including multi-site domestic and LatAm projects and large construction program rollouts)
· Provide counsel on project development and construction problems as well as claim management processes under cross-border US design, engineering and construction contracts
· Assist with standardization of design and construction agreement forms
Required Qualifications:
· 5 or more years of experience handling construction transactions at a large law firm
· Top academic credentials
