About the Position:
Our client, a top-ranked national Am Law firm, is seeking an attorney with consumer protection and financial regulatory experience to join its Chicago office as an associate. The firm advises banks, fintech companies, payment card issuers, online lenders, retail merchants, and other financial services providers across the full product life cycle, from product design and structuring through compliance management, government investigations, and enforcement defense.

Responsibilities:
· Handle regulatory and compliance advisory matters spanning the consumer finance space, such as credit reporting, debt collection, fair lending, electronic payments, online banking, and bank-model lending arrangements
· Counsel fintechs, card issuers, program managers, and financial institutions
· Guide clients from the earliest stages of product design through ongoing compliance oversight, including addressing government investigations or enforcement defense

Qualifications:
· 3-5 years of relevant experience and a strong command of the consumer protection landscape at both the federal and state level
· A background counseling fintech companies, card issuers, program managers, or financial institutions is a plus
· Familiarity with licensing matters, mortgage-related products, or regulatory enforcement defense is also a plus

Location:
Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $260,000 – $310,000.
