About the Position:
Our client, a top Am Law 50 Firm, has an active need for an executive compensation and employee benefits lawyer to join its Chicago office as an associate. This practice works closely with the firm’s transactional practice and advises clients on the benefits and executive compensation aspects of business transactions. Responsibilities:
· Provide legal counsel on executive compensation and employee benefits in the context of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, and asset sales
· Advise clients on compliance with ERISA, tax laws, securities regulations, and other federal and state laws
· Assist in the design, implementation, and administration of executive compensation plans and employee benefit programs
· Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, compensation-related documents, as well as executive employment contracts and severance agreements
· Collaborate with the corporate and tax practice groups
· Stay abreast of emerging legal developments in executive compensation and employee benefits law
Required Qualifications:
· 2-6 years of executive compensation and employee benefit experience in relation to corporate transactions (law firm experience preferred)
· Experience with retirement and health and welfare plans
· Strong academic credentials

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $235,000 – $390,000
