About the Position:
Our client, a highly regarded legacy law firm in Virginia, is seeking an employee benefits/executive compensation attorney to join its established practice in Norfolk, Richmond, or Tysons Corner, VA. This is a succession-planning opportunity offering sophisticated work for major corporate and healthcare clients, advising on executive compensation, retirement plans, health and welfare benefits, and ERISA compliance matters.

Responsibilities:
· Advise clients on executive compensation, retirement, and health and welfare benefit programs
· Counsel employers on compensation and benefits issues arising in corporate operations, mergers and acquisitions, and financings
· Draft and review benefit plans, executive compensation arrangements, policies, and provider agreements
· Ensure compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, HIPAA, COBRA, the Affordable Care Act, and related regulations
· Support transactional matters involving compensation and employee benefits
Required Qualifications:
· 7+ years of employee benefits, ERISA, and/or executive compensation experience
· Experience advising on qualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans
· Strong knowledge of ERISA and related tax and regulatory requirements
· Portable book of business is a plus

Norfolk, Richmond, or Tysons Corner, VA (Hybrid)
Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $200,000+ and may be substantially higher for candidates with a portable book of business.
