We are working with a global law firm that has an active need for an employment attorney with an interest in venture capital/funds work to join its thriving practice in Chicago. This practice represents large public companies, investment funds, nonprofits, and boards of directors with employment counseling, investigations, and litigation matters.

Responsibilities:
· Provide strategic counsel on employment matters related to managing employment relationships, including hiring, onboarding, wage-and-hour compliance, employee leave, preparation/enforcement of non-disclosure, non-compete and non-solicit agreements, disciplinary actions, RIFs, and employee terminations
· Advise clients on workforce-related aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence, negotiation and drafting of transaction agreements, and preparation of employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements and retention agreements
· Collaborate with fund formation practice to advise fund clients on employment-related matters
Required Qualifications:
· 3-6 years of broad employment law experience, including counseling and drafting agreements
· Familiarity with the venture capital ecosystem
· Some litigation experience is a plus
· Excellent academic credentials

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary for this position is $260,000 – $390,000.
