About the Position:
Our client, a sophisticated national law firm, has an active need for an environmental transactions lawyer with strong M&A experience to join its highly regarded practice as a Partner in Chicago. This firm’s Environmental practice works closely with its real estate and energy attorneys, and gives attorneys the chance to advise on major corporate transactions, permitting and regulatory compliance, brownfield redevelopment, environmental risk management, and public-private projects, while offering a small office atmosphere with the advantageous resources of a large law firm.

Responsibilities:
· Handle M&A work directly for environmental projects and advise on the environmental regulatory aspects of M&A deals
· Counsel clients in the permitting, operations, and reporting processes of federal and state regulatory programs
· Handle review of environmental assessments, evaluation of potential environmental liabilities associated with real estate transactions, and evaluation of eligibility for federal and state Brownfields assistance programs
Required Qualifications:
· 8+ years of experience with environmental regulatory and transactional matters
· Strong experience with M&A matters involved in environmental projects and regulation
· Portable business is a plus, but none is required

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $300,000+.
