About the Position:
Our client, a prestigious international law firm, has an active need for a lawyer experienced in handling the tax aspects of fund formation to join its tax practice in Chicago. The firm’s tax practice focuses on all aspects of US and UK tax law and advises on thousands of transactions annually across a variety of sectors, including technology, life sciences, energy, telecommunications and real estate.

Responsibilities:
· Counsel investment fund sponsors on the domestic and international tax aspects of forming, organizing and operating venture capital funds, private equity funds, real estate funds, hedge funds, debt funds, and funds of funds
· Represent clients with respect to fund restructurings, investor representations, secondary transactions, and minority investments in fund sponsors
Required Qualifications:
· 3-5 years of tax experience representing fund sponsors and investors
· Experience with venture funds and private equity funds, and advising on investment fund formations, primary and secondary investments, and joint ventures preferred
· Excellent academic credentials

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary for this position is $260,000 – $365,000.
