About the Position:
Our client, a Midwest-based national law firm, is seeking a funds lawyer (experience with private equity, private credit, and venture capital funds preferred) with 3-5 years of experience to join its Chicago office as an associate. The person in this role will work primarily with the firm’s nationally-recognized Financial Services & Capital Markets group, which counsels a range of clients across the country, including family offices, private investors, closely-held companies, private equity funds, and holdings companies.

Responsibilities:
· Represent privately-held companies as well as private equity funds looking to strategically invest in the U.S. and internationally
· Advise on letters of intent, lead legal due diligence, negotiate transaction documents, handle tasks related to closing of deals

Required Qualifications:
· 3-5 years of experience advising investment funds, as well as investors in such funds, throughout all stages of the funds’ lifecycle
· Specific experience with private equity, private credit, and venture capital funds preferred
· Excellent academic credentials

Location:

Compensation:
The anticipated base compensation for this position is $215,000 – $285,000.
