About the Position:
We have been exclusively engaged by a global management consulting firm with an immediate need for an employment lawyer to join as Senior Counsel. This person will serve as a key figure in advising on employment-related matters, negotiating and drafting commercial contracts, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
· Report to the GC, and serve as the second lawyer on the legal team
· Advise on employment matters, including recruiting, employee relations, compensation and benefits, leaves of absence, immigration, workplace investigations, and terminations
· Draft and review employment, noncompete and separation agreements, policies, handbooks, and codes of conduct, as well as a variety of contracts including on data privacy and security
· Assist in reviewing, updating, and implementing company policies, procedures, and training and education, in accordance with state, local, federal, and international employment laws
· Advise on potential issues/risks throughout contract development, negotiation, and conclusion
· Partner with stakeholders to improve contracting and procurement processes
· Perform legal research and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international laws, and advise on new laws and regulations

Required Qualifications:
· 7+ years of employment counseling experience
· Experience drafting and negotiating employment-related contracts
· Deep knowledge of state, local, and federal employment laws

Location:
Chicago, IL (Remote); Local candidates strongly preferred
