About the Position:
We are working with a Midwest-based defense firm that has an immediate need for an insurance coverage attorney to join its Chicago practice as a senior associate or junior partner (depending on experience).

Responsibilities:
· Assist with management of a thriving insurance coverage practice
· Oversee junior associates on assigned files
· Actively lead in the defense and prosecution of coverage matters from case inception through trial
· Regularly conduct 30(b)(6) depositions, as well as the depositions of insureds, public adjusters, engineers and building contractors
· Conduct examinations under oath, along with ancillary legal research
· Author coverage opinions to both claims adjusting personnel and in-house counsel
· Defense of coverage and extracontractual liability matters in state and federal courts, as well as the prosecution of declaratory judgment matters on issues of insurance coverage
· Oversight and advice of counsel to claims personnel and in-house counsel on property insurance appraisals

Required Qualifications:
· 5 or more years of insurance coverage experience, including first-party property litigation
· Must have strong trial experience and be able to manage files independently
