About the Position:
Our client, a top Am Law 50 firm with a large and established Chicago office, is actively seeking an attorney with transactional risk insurance experience to join as of counsel in its Chicago office. This firm’s global insurance practice offers a fully integrated platform delivering high-stakes transactional, regulatory and dispute-resolution counsel to insurers, reinsurers, brokers and insurtech clients by combining deep sector knowledge with expertise in M&A, cyber/data privacy, ESG, and cross-border transactions.

Responsibilities:
· Assess transactional, legal, and financial risks by reviewing M&A agreements, diligence reports, and disclosure materials to support underwriting decisions
· Draft and negotiate representations & warranties, tax, and other transactional risk insurance policies, ensuring alignment with deal terms and client needs
· Advise on risk allocation strategies and the interaction between insurance coverage, indemnities, escrow structures, and transaction timelines
· Collaborate with insurers, brokers, and counsel to resolve coverage issues, manage post-closing claims, and support efficient deal execution

Required Qualifications:
· 6-8 years of experience in the transactional risk insurance space
· Experience as a broker or underwriter in the transactional risk insurance space strongly preferred
· Exposure to representations & warranties insurance policies
· Large law firm experience (Am Law 100 preferred)
· Excellent academic credentials and writing skills

Compensation:
The anticipated base compensation for this position is $425,000 – $525,000.
