About the Position:
Our client, a global, Midwest-based law firm, is actively seeking an insurance transactional attorney to join its Chicago office as an associate. The firm’s multidisciplinary practice advises property, casualty, life and health, and insurers and reinsurers on matters spanning their entire business, from M&A to intellectual property.

Responsibilities:
· Represent insurers, reinsurers, brokers, and third-party administrators on mergers, acquisitions, investments, restructurings, and joint ventures
· Prepare and negotiate deal documents while assessing the insurance regulatory implications of each transaction
· Guide clients through regulatory approvals, licensing, governance, and diligence issues
· Collaborate with attorneys across the firm’s national offices

Required Qualifications:
· 2-6 years of transactional experience involving insurance companies, plus substantive exposure to insurance regulatory work
· Superior drafting, analytical, and communication skills, with the judgment to balance several matters at once
· Strong academic credentials

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $240,000 – $390,000.
