About the Position:
Our client, a Midwest-based national law firm, has an active need for a patent prosecution lawyer with an undergrad degree in electrical engineering (or related field) to join its practice in Chicago as a junior or mid-level associate. The person in this position will work with clients to protect their market share, focusing on patent prosecution, infringement risk mitigation and strategic portfolio management. This firm has nearly 100 patent attorneys, agents, engineers and scientists and handles a full range of patent and IP legal services across all industries, from consumer products to industrial systems to pharmaceuticals.

Responsibilities:
· Assist clients with their domestic and international patent portfolios, including patent preparation and prosecution, freedom-to-operate analyses and infringement analyses
· Prepare, file and prosecute utility patent applications
Required Qualifications:
· 1-5 years of patent prosecution experience
· Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering or a related field
· Strong academic credentials

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary for this position is $190,000 – $265,000.
