About the Position:
Our client, a top-tier global law firm, is actively seeking a finance lawyer with significant leveraged finance experience to join its Chambers-ranked practice as a senior associate in Chicago. Responsibilities:
· Execute sponsor-backed acquisition financings across diverse sectors, including cross-border and multi-currency transactions
· Structure and arrange cash-flow and asset-based lending solutions, including senior, senior-stretch, and revolving facilities
· Draft, review, and negotiate multi-lender and syndicated credit facilities, as well as intercreditor and subordination agreements
· Advise on and structure mezzanine and subordinated debt, preferred equity co-investments, and other bespoke financing solutions
· Lead liability-management transactions, including uptiers, exchange offers, drop-downs, covenant resets, amendments, and waivers (and negotiate related intercreditor mechanics)
· Manage and execute amend-and-extend transactions, refinancings, and recapitalizations for sponsor portfolio companies

Required Qualifications:
· 5-7 years of leveraged finance experience, including representing financial institutions, private credit funds, BDCs, and non-bank lenders in complex, sponsor-backed transactions
· Large law firm experience
· Understanding of LMEs, unitranche structures, multi-lender syndications, and sponsor finance market terms
· Strong drafting skills and academic credentials

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $365,000 – $420,000.
