About the Position:
Our client, a sophisticated national law firm and recognized leader in the finance area, is seeking an attorney to join its litigation practice in Chicago as a mid-level associate specializing in restructuring/bankruptcy and workouts. This is a broad position that includes both bankruptcy litigation and transactional restructuring. Responsibilities:
· Represent financial institutions and secured lenders in commercial litigation matters, including corporate bankruptcies, out of court workouts/restructurings and enforcement proceedings, contract disputes, and avoidance actions
· Provide advice to clients on Uniform Commercial Code and compliance matters
· Conduct mediations and depositions, and represent clients in hearings
· Draft and negotiate restructuring documents, financing agreements, and forbearance agreements
· Prepare and negotiate settlement agreements

Required Qualifications:
· 3-4 years of experience with workouts and restructuring, commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and/or finance law
· Strong academic credentials
