About the Position:
Our client, a global and tech-driven provider of valuation, advisory, and property services, is seeking a US General Counsel to serve as the senior legal leader for its U.S. operations. The person in this role will be based in Chicago and will report directly to the Global General Counsel based in Australia. The position is a hands-on, generalist role with responsibility across commercial contracting, compliance, employment, corporate governance, and M&A.

Responsibilities:
· Act as a trusted advisor to the U.S. Senior Leadership Team on strategic, operational, and regulatory matters, as well as identifying legal risks and opportunities
· Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor, customer, SaaS, licensing, and NDAs
· Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, including corporate governance, data privacy, and employment matters
· Manage corporate secretarial duties and required filings for U.S. entities
· Partner with HR on employment-related matters and workplace investigations
· Support M&A activity, including diligence and integration
· Oversee litigation and manage outside counsel as needed

Required Qualifications:
· 6+ years of legal experience with a strong corporate generalist foundation
· Significant commercial contracting experience
· In-house legal experience preferred
· Experience with mortgages/appraisals and/or technology/SaaS is also a plus

Compensation:
The anticipated base compensation for this position will be $220,000.
