About the Position:
We are working with an international Am Law 100 firm that has an immediate need for a tax lawyer to join in its Chicago office as a Counsel in the Nonprofit & Tax-Exempt Organizations practice. This practice is nationally ranked by Legal 500 United States and represents a broad range of nonprofits, tax-exempt, and charitable organizations, including foundations, universities and other educational institutions, hospital and health care organizations, medical research organizations, museums, trade associations, and churches and religious institutions.

Responsibilities:
· Provide comprehensive advice to nonprofits, tax-exempt, and charitable organizations including organizational, compliance, planning, governance, reporting and tax issues affecting these entities
· Counsel clients on issues involving fundraising and development

Required Qualifications:
· Significant experience representing a variety of nonprofits, tax-exempt, and charitable organizations
· Experience working with charitable institutions and high net worth donors on structuring planned gifts to charitable organizations
· Strong knowledge of compliance with federal tax law applicable to charitable and other tax-exempt organizations, as well as governance, endowment and investment matters, and federal tax rules relating to private foundations
· Excellent academic credentials
