Our client, a highly regarded plaintiffs’ personal injury law firm, is actively seeking a Senior Personal Injury / Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its Chicago office.
The firm handles sophisticated, high-stakes plaintiffs’ personal injury matters, including complex medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, and other significant cases. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced attorney to work alongside one of the country’s leading plaintiffs’ personal injury lawyers and take on substantial responsibility in complex litigation.
The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills and judgment, along with an interest in developing business and client relationships. No book of business required.

Responsibilities
· Handle complex plaintiffs’ personal injury and medical malpractice matters from inception through resolution
· Develop case strategy and analyze complex factual and legal issues
· Conduct depositions, witness interviews, and factual investigations
· Manage discovery and other aspects of complex litigation
· Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related documents
· Participate in court appearances, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, trials, and settlement negotiations
· Work collaboratively with other attorneys and firm professionals on significant matters
· Develop and maintain client and referral relationships
· Identify and develop potential business opportunities
Required Qualifications
· 5+ years of litigation experience, including medical malpractice and/or sophisticated plaintiffs’ personal injury experience
· Experience handling complex, significant cases rather than primarily high-volume personal injury matters
· Strong academic and professional credentials
· Interest in developing business and client relationships
· Candidates with strong medical malpractice defense experience who are interested in transitioning to the plaintiffs’ side will also be considered
· Attorneys with sophisticated commercial litigation experience may also be considered if they have excellent credentials and a genuine interest in transitioning into plaintiffs’ personal injury work

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $300,000+, depending on experience and qualifications.
The firm also offers discretionary performance bonuses and significant origination economics.
The origination structure provides substantial additional earning potential for attorneys who develop business and originate matters.
