Our client, a premier national law firm, is seeking a cybersecurity and data privacy attorney to join its Chicago office as an associate. The firm’s practice group addresses the rapid changes in privacy and data security requirements to advise clients on litigation, data breach response, compliance, and government investigations connected to regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities:
· Advise clients on compliance with key privacy and data security regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other state comprehensive privacy statutes
· Draft and review privacy policies, data protection agreements, and privacy/security provisions in commercial contracts
· Conduct privacy and security due diligence for transactions, lead privacy impact assessments, and negotiate related agreement terms
· Support clients through data incident response and regulatory investigations
Required Qualifications:
· 3-5 years of experience practicing privacy and data security law, with working knowledge of the relevant international, federal, and state regulatory framework
· Hands-on experience with privacy documentation and transactional work, including policy drafting, contract negotiation, due diligence, and incident response
· Strong academic record paired with solid time-management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team setting

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary for this position is $240,000 – $305,000.
