About the Position:
Our client, a nationally recognized leader in public and institutional finance, is seeking a Public Finance Senior Counsel (3–7 years of experience) to join its Chicago office. This Chambers-ranked team advises a wide range of state and federally chartered financial institutions – as well as U.S. branches of international banks – on sophisticated public finance transactions. The group is widely known for developing innovative credit enhancement structures, including letters of credit and liquidity facilities, used in complex municipal and institutional financings.

Key Responsibilities:
· Represent lenders in commercial lending transactions, including secured and unsecured term loans and revolving credit facilities
· Draft and negotiate reimbursement agreements, letters of credit, and liquidity facilities for public finance transactions
Preferred Background:
· 3–7 years of transactional or finance experience at a large or midsize law firm (or within a bank legal department)
· Familiarity with municipal finance, banking, or securities underwriting (bond issuances, municipal and revenue bonds, tax/revenue notes, or lease obligations)
· Experience working with nonprofit or institutional borrowers such as hospitals, universities, airports, and utilities
· Excellent academic credentials and writing skills

Compensation:
Base salary range: $235,000 – $350,000, commensurate with experience
