About the Position:
Our client, a global Am Law 100 Firm, has an active need for a real estate lawyer (2+ yrs of experience) to join its Chicago office as an associate. This practice has a national reach and its attorneys guide owners, developers, equity investors, tax credit syndicators, lenders, and government agencies through the regulatory and financing requirements of affordable and mixed-income housing projects.

Responsibilities:
· Represent commercial real estate lenders and equity clients, and affordable housing developers and investors, in real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financings, joint ventures and affordable multifamily housing transactions
· Assist owners and developers with the acquisition and preservation of affordable housing under various Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) multifamily programs
· Handle transactions involving low-income housing tax credit and tax-exempt bond financing

Required Qualifications:
· 2+ years of experience with multifamily and/or commercial real estate at a nationally recognized law firm
· Experience with affordable housing development, tax-exempt bond financing, low-income housing tax credits, agency financing programs (FHA, Freddie, or Fannie), and/or HUD subsidy programs is a plus
· Strong academic credentials and writing skills

Location:
Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $235,000+.
