About the Position:
Our client, an established Chicago real estate development law firm, has an active need for a real estate lawyer with significant zoning experience to join its practice. Responsibilities:
· Work on significant private development projects assisting in rezonings, annexations and the procurement of public entitlements
· Appear before local zoning boards, plan commissions and municipal councils and represent clients at public hearings and negotiations
· Provide guidance to property owners on zoning laws and assist in preparing and filing all necessary applications and permits for zoning approval
· Handle a range of real estate transactions involving acquisition, disposition, development, financing, structuring and leasing of residential, commercial and industrial real property
· Draft and negotiate annexation and development agreements
Required Qualifications:
· 8-10 years of real estate transactional experience
· Substantial experience with land use development and zoning matters
· Strong business development/client relationship skills
· Book of business preferred but not required

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $215,000 – $250,000.
