About the Position:
Our client, an elite Am Law 50 firm, has an active need for a finance lawyer with 5-8 years of venture capital/emerging growth experience to join its Chicago office as a professional track attorney. This practice has a global reach and has been nationally recognized for its work, and this position will have a strong focus on working with emerging growth companies and the institutional investors that support them.

Responsibilities:
· Advise emerging growth companies and their institutional investors on venture capital financings, M&A transactions, and ongoing corporate governance needs
· Serve as a responsive, clear communicator with partners, colleagues, clients, and third parties, delivering accurate work product on deadline
· Build and sustain client relationships by anticipating needs and helping drive continued engagement

Required Qualifications:
· 5-8 years of experience in emerging growth and venture capital work, ideally at an AmLaw 100 firm
· Hands-on experience negotiating and managing preferred stock, bridge, and SAFE financings, along with working knowledge of standard market forms
· Experience running due diligence on both M&A deals and venture financings

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $200,000 – $300,000.
